Hi Handsome! Hi Beautiful! I have missed you!
I am starting to see a theme with my postings which is to combine Saturday & Sunday into one post and call it my “Weekend Round-Up.” That phrase is definitely corny but it feels right.
Additionally, I feel very comfortable realizing that this blog has definitely turned into weight loss blogging mixed with general life musings. Hopefully you are ok with that 🙂
It was my cousin’s 18th birthday so my brother and I went down and saw him before he went to his birthday party (laser tag with his friends from 11pm-7am) and then we hung out with our aunt. It was really nice to spend time with my family considering it really doesn’t happen that often which is kind of sad considering we all live within 35 miles of each other.
Food Intake for the Day
- 1/2 of a serving of Apple Cinnamon oatmeal: 1.5 points
- Plum = o points
- Turkey sandwich, 1 piece of cheddar cheese, 2 pieces of white bread, small amount of mustard and mayo & water= 14 points (normally I cut down on points by only eating one piece of bread AND making sure it’s wheat but I wanted a plain ol’ white bread sandwich, don’t judge.) I will admit that this is A LOT of points for one sandwich so I wouldn’t recommend doing this everyday.
- Banana: 0 points
- I had 16 points left for dinner and I’m pretty sure I used them all when my family and I went to the Cheesecake Factory. Side note: The Cheesecake Factory now have their “Skinnylicious Menu” which have low-calorie options for food & alcoholic beverages 🙂
- I ordered the Ahi Tuna TarTare which is just avocado and raw tuna and the menu said it was 250 calories. It was filling and amazing and I would eat that stuff every day if I could. I ate 3 bites of bread and 2 avocado rolls with water…lots and lots of water. I am pretty sure that meal added up to 16 points. I might have used a few flex points on this meal but I am not positive.
I spent the night at my brother’s new place on Saturday night and as usual I woke up super early and made him go on a walk with me to Starbucks and then around the area. I got a Chai Tea Latte (Grande with Soy) = 5 points. Before I woke him up though I looked through this book I bought him a few years ago. The book is called “What White People Like” and it is super depressing how much I find myself in it. I created this picture of a few things that represent me with great accuracy.
Here are a few pictures from our stroll around town:
When we came back to the house my brother showed me this really weird “game” called Clop. It’s basically a unicorn that you try to make walk or run and it is EXTREMELY awkward to do, in addition to being hilarious.
Here is my first attempt at it. RIDICULOUS:
I tried it a few more times when I came home from having lunch with my friends and it was equally embarrassing. You should try it out and tell me how you did.
I went and hung out with my beautiful Graduate school friends Amber, Rosey & Linda for lunch down in Orange County. Amber’s husband Neri and their 2 amazingly perfect children came, in addition to Linda’s beautiful new girlfriend, Lori (they are going to get married. I am calling it right here in my blog.)
Amber & Neri’s four-year-old Jude is my little buddy and I seriously would move mountains for this child. Jude is also a new big brother! Amber is my friend who allowed me to be with her while she gave birth to their second child, Jasper. So now that introductions are over with I will get to what we ate……
We went to get Mexican Food and I shared a “wet” shrimp burrito (no cheese) with beans and rice with my friend Rosey. I have no clue how many points that thing was but considering I barely ate half of it I can’t imagine it was more than 10-14 points.
We also took some pictures because that’s what girls do:
Now I am home and I am sitting here blogging. I also ate a peach = 0 points, a serving of Veggie Chips= 4 points and a cookie that I officially regret eating because it was 5 points and it wasn’t even that good. Oh well, you live and learn.
That’s about it for now. I will leave you with this quote I found a few days ago that I find super relevant to my life right now. I enjoy it and maybe you will too 🙂
“In life, it’s rarely about getting a chance; it’s about taking a chance. You’ll never be 100% sure it will work, but you can always be 100% sure doing nothing wont work. Most of the time you just have to go for it! And no matter how it turns out, it always ends up just the way it should be. Either you succeed or you learn something. Win-Win.”

I forgot to post this
A few people have asked me how my brother responded to me finding a replacement to the bracelet that accidentally got cut off his arm a few days ago. I thought the bracelet was from 5 years ago but my brother informed me that it was actually 8 years ago! I seriously can’t believe I found out. He was very thankful and really shocked. It made me feel really good that I could do this for him. I love my brother very very much and will do anything for people I care for and love with all my heart.
