Good Morning August 13th

This post will have nothing to do with food considering it’s 7:21am and I am not hungry yet. I feel like blogging though because that’s what I do! I think therefore I blog. Actually, I should make that into a sticker. Instead of:

I think therefore I am

it will be

I think therefore I blog

Waitttttt…..right after I wrote that out I Googled it to see if someone has already beat me to the punch and they did. Oh well, at least I know I have great ideas sometimes.

These next 3 weeks are going to fly by with some awesome events that are happening in my life.

This weekend I am going down to San Diego to see a few of my friends, in addition to finally meeting my friend Natalie’s new baby boy, Parker! Natalie is my friend from high school who lived in San Diego with me until she and her husband moved to Texas. They are flying out to visit family and friends so I will get to see them. It’s been way too long. The last time I saw them I was in their wedding and now they have a baby! Where does the time go? I really can’t wait and it will be nice to get away from the hot @ss valley.

I lived in San Diego for almost 5 years and I can honestly say it was the best time I have ever had. I still mourn moving away from this place. Maybe one day I will be back.

The following week I am going to fly out to San Francisco to hang out with my best friend for 5 days. We are also going to be road tripping it up to Monterey to go to the “StopOver” music festival which also doubles as a Carnival.

We are going because Mumford & Sons is playing live. I can’t even put into words how excited I am about this. I even bought this wig to wear to the concert because I am a weirdo and I love dressing up for things.

My thoughts are if we are going to Concert/Carnival at the Monterey Fairgrounds then I MUST dress up like something that came out of a fantasy land book. Duh.

Thennnnn the next week is my 29th birthday AND ALSO MY 2 MONTH MARK ON WEIGHT WATCHERS!!!!! It will be really interesting to see how much weight I have lost by that date. I am going to Hicksville in Joshua Tree to celebrate being one year older with a few friends. If you want to read about Hicksville in my blog and see pictures of this “weird sounding” place then you can click here.  I have a feeling it’s going to be so much fun that I will be filling that in a category of Epic Vacations.

I believe that is all I have planned in terms of travel but I definitely have some ideas to be traveling to Austin Texas, Seattle Washington & New York in the next 2-3 months. Why not, right? I am single, I have no kids, no mortgage, I’m not paying rent (thanks Grandma) I can save a bunch of money and I have a job that allows me to take Friday-Sunday off due to my part-time status. Am I living the American Dream right now? Does the American Dream entail living with your Grandma? I am starting to believe it does.

I hope everyone has an amazing day! I know I will 🙂

Once again, this next thing I am going to post has nothing to do with food or weight loss but it’s a quote I really really love. It is focused around intimate relationships and I actually feel like it was written from a place of deep disappointed. Not surprising, I like it and I look at it in a different light. Although I do see myself see myself in these words I also feel like it applies to everything else in my life. It’s strange that my optimistic outlook can be a “downer at times” but I wouldn’t change it for anything and I would much rather be a “victim” of my enthusiasm then be a “victim” of a negative outlook.

Everything WILL work out. It ALWAYS does.

“I have a history of making decisions very quickly about men. I have always fallen in love fast and without measuring risks. I have a tendency not only to see the best in everyone, but to assume that everyone is emotionally capable of reaching his highest potential. I have fallen in love more times than I care to count with the highest potential of a man, rather than with the man himself, and I have hung on to the relationship for a long time (sometimes far too long) waiting for the man to ascend to his own greatness. Many times in romance I have been a victim of my own optimism.”

Song I blogged to this morning: “Demons” by Imagine Dragons

One last thing in connection to Imagine Dragons who are blowing up right now…I am totally going to be “that person” right now……

So many years ago my really good friend Danny brought me to a show in San Diego to see a no name band by the name of Nico Vega.  I IMMEDIATELY FELL IN LOVE WITH NV. Whenever I love something or am into something I go full steam ahead (see quote above hahahahhaha.) Needless to say I have followed NV for years now and ended up seeing them in concert 11 times in the past 20 months. I am insane.

I have met the band on several occasions and they are as nice as it can be. Aja Volkman, the lead singer of NV is the most empowering, strong, amazing woman I have ever seen on stage. Her voice is SO UNIQUE and her style is to die for. I love EVERYTHING about this woman. Here are a few pictures of when I met them.

Here I am with the band Nico Vega XOXO

Aja Volkman performing with her band Nico Vega. Good God, I love this woman.

Aja Volkman from Nico Vega and her husband Dan Reynolds from Imagine Dragons and me! 🙂

Imagine Dragons is a band that is BLOWING UP RIGHT NOW. The lead singer of Imagine Dragons is Dan Reynolds who is married to to Aja Volkman!!!! They are THE GREATEST COUPLE ON THE PLANET! I don’t even care how stupid that sounds considering I don’t know them personally. That picture is when I saw them walking around Downtown Disney about a year and a half ago and I mustered up the guts to go up to them and ask for a picture.

Anyway, my whole point of bringing this up is to just talk about how much I love Nico Vega and I truly hope that they gain speed the way in which Imagine Dragons has. Aja is pregnant right now and I believe she is due to have her and Dan’s baby any minute now. I just went and saw her perform 7 months pregnant and it was beautiful. I am going to post a few links to their music and who knows, maybe I will turn someone onto them because quite frankly they are f*****ing terrific. Imagine Dragons isn’t so bad either 🙂 I am so so so so happy that down-to-earth musicians are making it big now. That is all XOXO

Here is one of my favorite KICK ASS songs and video from Nico Vega. It’s called Gravity. Click here to watch the video and fall in love like I did 🙂

This song is called “Beast” and it’s performed live. You can really see and hear the power of Aja.

Lastly, Dan and Aja had a side project called “Egyptian.” They have an EP that is really good and they also made a bunch of YouTube videos of them singing together acoustically.

If you want to kill yourself with cuteness then watch this video and fast forward to the 4 minute mark when they start losing it and are laughing together. If you are a heartless human that doesn’t believe in love then you will become a believer after seeing these two together. This makes my heart absolutely melt.

Wanna become a believer in love? CLICK HERE HAHAHAHA, not to mention hearing awesome singers.

And here are a few pictures of her because well, she’s F****cking gorgeous.

I just weighed myself and I weigh 1.5 pounds less than I weighed during my Weigh-In last Friday!!!!!! Let’s see if I can keep it off 🙂

About FunnyGirlweightloss

Hey You! Welcome to my blog, I am happy you stopped by and I hope my struggles make you laugh a little bit....wait, what?....Anywho, this is my weight loss blog where I will be 100% honest and real about my struggles in losing some weight and more importantly, keeping it off. Most people that know me say I am funny (hence, the title of this blog) so I guess the twist is the fact that I am going to be completely candid about how much losing weight can be really tough/hard/awful/daunting/boring, yet eventually amazing and totally worthwhile. Hopefully through my vulnerability and candidness, I help inspire others to lose some weight and stay motivated.

i love that quote too. i’d rather be a victim of my mistakes than a victim of missed opportunities/not even trying. i think you’d also agree 😉

“There are worse ways to go through life than to feel things passionately”:

october is the greatest time in NY. there’s a freshness in the air, it’s time for scarves and boots and cute sweaters. fireplaces go on at bars and the leaves start to turn…i just love the smell in the air and the crispness. these next few months i have more than a few visitors and trips so im not sure how much extra $ and time/vacation days i’ll have. of course 95% of my fav things to do here don’t cost a dime and id love for you to come in the gorgeous fall. and where i now live, you could go explore my hood while im at work! youll love brooklyn and where i live!

    basically, come whenever! ha
