I miss dancing.

As much as I love and respect ballet, jazz, modern, etc. etc., my true love has always been for hip hop dancing.

I danced when I was a kid on a competition team through a studio. I danced throughout jr. high and high school and I was on a hip hop team for OCC when I was going to community college in Orange County. At some point though, I just stopped. I have taken classes here and there but after watching “So You Think You Can Dance” last night it made me miss dancing once again.

When people hear that I used to do hip hop dancing I usually get responses like

“No you didn’t” “You?!?!?! Hip hop?!?! What!!!”

Then there are people who find that out and will say things like

“Prove it….do it now…dance for me” <—-That is so awkward.

Or there’s always the time when I am at a club and people are like

“Deanna!!! DANCEEEEEEE” <—Super awkward as well.

What I miss is choreographed dancing, not booty shaking, rubbing up against a sweaty dude in an overpriced club, dancing. I think the time has come for me to look into a studio to take some dance classes that make me feel young again hahahahhaa. I was looking on YouTube to try and find a recording of a dance class that represents the kind of dancing I used to do and I found this one. I like it

There’s actually a tutorial to that dance so I am thinking about teaching it to myself and making a recording of me doing the dance. I will post it if I ever get around to making it, especially if I feel like embarrassing the living crap out of myself.

Today was a weird day at work so I came home and hugged my dog a bunch. I whispered to her words of love, we thought about things together and then she licked me on the face to tell me tomorrow will be better. Thanks, Tessa.

Today didn’t start off bad…I mean….there’s always the initial morning wake up where I have a burst of energy and I look like this

Here’s what I ate today 

  1. Coffee and a peach = 0 points
  2. I got to work and found out some yucky stuff, got sad and ate a donut. Then I got sadder because I ate the donut. Oh well = 6 points
  3. 10 gummy snacks <—-whyyyy did I do this= 2 points 
  4. 15 pretzel sticks = 4 points 
  5. Fiber bar = 4 points
  6. half a cantaloupe = 0 points
  7. carrots = 0 points
  8. 2 eggs = 4 points 
  9. 2 slices of turkey meat = 1 point
  10. WATERRRRRRRRRR. Tons of water
  11. I have 9 points left for dinner. I kind of feel like going to the movies tonight and having a kids pack. I think that thing is 9 points or so.

Tomorrow is weigh-in day!!!!!! I am curious to know if I got to the -10 pounds mark. WE SHALL SEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!
