October 16th Part II

I am still exhausted from going to Austin this past weekend for the Austin City Limits music festival. It’s a good exhausted though considering I got to spend 4 1/2 days with the guy I like doing super fun things and watching really great live music, not to mention going on a mini road trip to see one of my closest friends and her baby. This trip totally deserves a blog post so I am going to power through the fact that I am profoundly tired and I know I am going to end up making a lot of spelling and grammatical errors but I don’t care. If I wait any longer to write this I am not going to write it and then I will become infertile and die a miserable death in 2-3 years from today.

Friday

Tommy and I woke up like two kids on Christmas ready and raring to go to ACL. He lives about 3 miles from Zilker Park where the festival was so we decided to call a cab. The cab never showed so we decided to do what any rational couple would do…..call another cab? NO. We rented an electric tandem bike. BAHAHAHAHAHAHHHAHAHAHAHA. Despite the fact that my tragic t-shirt and pony tail makes me look like a two-ton whale, I am posting it anyway because it’s the only picture I have of the both of us on the bike. So here we are…..allllllll smiles….just wait, there are sad panda faces coming up soon……After you look at these pictures make sure to listen to my Vlog about how we actually bought tickets that were invalid because we got scammed and ended up not being able to go into the music festival…….right away.

So after riding 6+ hours on a tandem bike in extreme heat I have decided that I probably earned 2.5 million Activity points and I never have to work out again.

SUCCESS

I forgot to mention that before ACL we went to the S. Congress Cafe and we both ordered the Eggs Benedict. It was delicious and oddly enough our waitress was from Valencia, CA which is where we both grew up. SO RANDOM. What’s also random is asked us if we knew about the heroin epidemic that is occurring out in that area with the teenagers. Ummm….no we didn’t hear about that but now I am going to enjoy my bacon, thank you.

Here are a few pictures of the inside of ACL. Very exciting.

Bra flag.

Beautiful Austin skyline at night at ACL. Blurry but still pretty 🙂

M83

I want to say that I LOVE M83. LOVE.LOVE.LOVE.LOVE.LOVE.THEM.

THEY WERE AMAZINGGGGGGG LIVE. If you like them and you have not seen them live then I strongly encourage you to sell your old pogs and roller blades and buy a ticket to see them. It’s a spiritual awakening.

Lastly, here is a picture of Tommy when we first realized that the engine died on our tandem bike and we still had a good 1.5 miles to ride home. Mind you, we had been riding for 6+ hours and standing on our feet from 10am-11pm in humid, sticky, hot weather. His face says it all. I seriously don’t remember falling asleep that night. I was dead to the world.

Saturday

Tommy and I went on a 3 hour road trip to Dallas to visit my friend Natalie, her husband and their baby, Parker. Natalie and I have been friends since high school and we met in California. Now she lives in Dallas with her family and Tommy, Natalie, her husband and I went to see Grouplove at the House of Blues. We also went to a Mexican restaurant that served us guacamole that tasted exactly the way I would imagine baby butt rash ointment would taste like. It was disgusting and we asked for the waiter to take it away and he acted like we just punched his mother in the face. It was awkward. And now I present you with pictures of the car ride up to Dallas. We had fun.

Here is an old picture of Natalie and I just for sh*ts and giggles. I think we were 24 here. We are 29 now.

Here we are at the Grouplove concert on Saturday

Grouplove

During my stay in Austin I also made friends with Tommy’s kitten, Mr. K. Or maybe it was the other way around. Actually, I think Mr. K made friends with my hair and that’s about it.

While I was in Austin I ended up eating 3 cheeseburgers on 3 separate occasions. I have no idea why I did this. Don’t get me wrong, they were delicious, all of them but I haven’t eaten red meat in a very long time. It didn’t mess my stomach up, I was fine after I ate them but after some thought I don’t think I am going to do that anymore. I enjoy staying away from red meat unless I know that it is coming from a free-range/grass-fed farm and the cows are hugged and kissed and whispered sweet nothings too before they are humanely killed. I just don’t see a big reason for me to eat red meat and it being delicious isn’t going to be enough for me. So I had a good/short run with cheeseburgers but I am officially back to avoiding them unless I am at Burger Lounge in San Diego and then it’s on like Donkey Kong.

I think I’m going to end this post here. I am now seeing double and I am starting to feel delirious. All I want to say is I love Austin. I heard nothing but amazing, wonderful things about that town before I went and I can safely say they are all true. From what I experienced I have now told people that it is like the cool parts of San Diego, Los Angeles and San Francisco fused into one town where the cost of living is lower and it is not overly crowded yet. Also, people are nice there and that is……nice. I am now on a mission to move there and 100% of the time I am on a mission I always complete it. It’s just something I do. I have to. With that said, I am going to go against what this man’s shirt says but I will post it anyway because I think it is funny. Good night.

Hey You! Welcome to my blog, I am happy you stopped by and I hope my struggles make you laugh a little bit....wait, what?....Anywho, this is my weight loss blog where I will be 100% honest and real about my struggles in losing some weight and more importantly, keeping it off. Most people that know me say I am funny (hence, the title of this blog) so I guess the twist is the fact that I am going to be completely candid about how much losing weight can be really tough/hard/awful/daunting/boring, yet eventually amazing and totally worthwhile. Hopefully through my vulnerability and candidness, I help inspire others to lose some weight and stay motivated. https://funnygirlweightloss.wordpress.com/
